Kingston
The Kingston is a premium two-way floor standing speaker adorned in real wood veneer. Utilizing the best European/Scandinavian-made tweeters and woofers along with European/French crossover components, the Kingston possess all the ingredients of a state -of-the-art high-end speaker. Our signature split and angled cabinet design along with details such as EMS, gold plated wire lugs, hand soldering, steel spike tip toes, solid hardwood feet, oxygen free 99.99% pure copper wiring, computer assisted cabinet cutting, hand assembly and finishing all work together to make a spectacular speaker that is of heirloom quality, sonically superior and is also a work of art.
Cabinet & Feet
2 way ported bass reflex
3/4 in / 19 mm MDF, split and angled double wall construction with two internal cross brackets that create an extreamly rigid cabinet.
Real wood veneer on all sides and/or premium paints.
Bottom is exposed grain protected with an amber poly coating. Top is painted in what is called an open grain style so the natural wood grain is still visable beneath the color.
Solid hard wood feet with polished steel cones for isolation and leveling.
Bi-wirable independent crossovers
180mm mid / bass driver and 29mm tweeter
Frequency range 30 - 25,000 Hz

EMS - Enhanced Mass System
$399 option ordered separately at our store. It can only be ordered during the initial purchase as it is part of the fabrication process with no opportunity to add it later.
EMS is our proprietary, optional system for increasing the mass of the Kingston by an amazing 25 Kgs or 55 Lbs each! The increased mass anchors the speaker which allows the components to transmit their sound in a much clearer, more focused way - truly the gold standard. Final weight is approximately 50 Kgs or 110 Lbs each.
Tweeter
The Seas Excel ”CRESCENDO” is an Ultra High End 29mm soft dome tweeter with a HEXADYM magnet system.
An optimally shaped dome and integrated wide surround from SONOMEX ensure excellent performance and consistency.
A high efficiency HEXADYM magnet system based on 6 radially magnetized NdFeB magnet blocks provide efficient ventilation and damping of cavities behind the dome, surround and voice coil.Moderate magnetic stray fields represent no problems in AV installations.
A generously underhung voice coil with flexible lead-out wires, ensures low distortion.
A 6mm precision machined aluminium front plate with moderate horn loading ensures linear frequency response and reasonable efficiency.
The central part of the horn is made from chrome plated precision machined aluminium.
A substantial injection moulded rear chamber made from zinc eliminates unwanted chamber wall resonances and conducts heat away from the magnet system.
The rear chamber and the front plate are Nextel painted to obtain a durable and attractive finish.Woofer
The Seas Excel 180 mm with a unique Nextel coating and 39 mm voice coil ensures smooth frequency response and low distortion.
An adaptive rubber surround provides an ideal match to the cone over the total frequency range.
A large magnet system with bumped back plate, together with a very long and light weight CCAW voice coil allow extreme coil excursion with low distortion and excellent transient response.
Heavy copper rings mounted above and below the T-shaped pole piece reduce non linear and modulation distortion and increase overload margin.
Extremely stiff and stable injection moulded metal basket keeps the critical components in perfect alignment.Large windows in the basket both above and below the spider reduce sound reflexion, air flow noise and cavity resonance to a minimum.
Frequency Response
Frequency range is 40 Hz to 25 KHz +/- 2dB
Crossover
Two, independintly mounted, hand built crossovers made with French components.
The low pass network is a 3rd order design. The high pass network employs a conventional 2nd order filter with an L-pad network. The X-over frequency is 2.2KHz.
Power Recommendation
25 - 125 Watt amplifier
Sensitivity and Impedance
88 dB efficiency
Impedance 8 ohm
Some Assembly Required
The steel leveling spikes need to be screwed into the feet by hand and then the feet need to be screwed into the bottom of the speakers. Super easy!
Build Time
We limit the number of units built in order to never compromise on our quality standards. Turn around time is generally a week but may be longer if parts are in short supply. We will let you know if there is a delay.
